Muscle Memory & Content

I am doing a drum rehearsal program that emphasizes developing muscle memory over speed. The theory is that if you practice something over and over perfectly at a manageable speed, your muscles learn the pattern. As your muscles learn the pattern, you’ll start to be able to stop thinking about the pattern. When you don’t need to think about the pattern, your arms naturally speed up on their own and muscle memory is built.

I have to a small set of patterns daily for a minute a piece at a comfortable speed. At the end of the set, there is one pattern I play as fast as I can for a minute to measure my speed. This gets recorded with the date so I can monitor my progress over time. So far, my hand speed is increasing little by little daily.

Check out this leap...I think this could be applied to writing content for your website or business. If someone wrote for five to ten minutes a day, that would add up to a lot of writing practice and content. I bet over time the writing would incrementally improve. After a while, it would stop seeming like a chore and would become second nature.
